7 Legit Hair Growth Hacks

If you’ve been following along on my hair journey for a while now, you know that one of my main sources of joy has been being able to share with you guys what has worked for me and what hasn’t! So many of us experience hair loss – why go through it alone?! I seriously hope that you feel at least a little bit less alone after visiting my blog, and if you’re looking for some ideas to get that hair growth going, girl I GOTCHU. Here are my top 7 hair growth hacks!

1. Monistat.

Y’all I know it sounds weird, but it WORKS lol! I made a whole video about this, so Imma link it here, but here’s the short version: Monistat has some weirdly great ingredients for hair growth, but it is not a game y’all – this is prescription strength ish! I put some in a spray bottle, mixed it with water, shook it up, and coat my roots with it every night before bed. It didn’t hurt my scalp or anything, but I recommend doing a little test with a little section before spraying it all over just in case! I really feel like this HAS been helping, but your body can grow immune to the ingredients, so I only did it for a month and won’t do it again for another few months.

2. Heatless styling.

This might feel obvious, but my hair was so heat damaged that I have vowed to not use ANY heat on it for at LEAST a year. Since I wear wigs, it’s not a huge deal for me, but if you’re opting away from wigs, there are some really cute and simple styles I do sometimes, like a sleek pony or lil baby bun!

3. Nutrafol.

Y’all, I have tried so many different types of hair vitamins. I even tried some for like a year straight and didn’t feel like I saw much change personally, but the Nutrafol Core for Women really have made a noticeable difference. Nutrafol was so kind to offer an amazing promo code for your 3rd month free when you subscribe with code COMMIT.

I’ve also been using Collective Laboratories Activating Serum to topically stimulate my hair follicles to promote hair growth. They gave us 50% off your first month with code DANI50.

4. Navy Hair Care Products.

For the most part, I think increasing hair growth happens from taking care of your body from the inside out, but I do think these hair products have made a big difference. Plus, it can’t hurt – like if I have to wash my hair anyway, I might as well use products that are working for me lol! I’ve been loving the Kisby Ring Set from Navy Hair Care to grow healthier hair, use code DANI30 for 30% off!

5. Gettin’ my 8 hours in.

sleep schedule

Stress is a HUGE part of what contributed to my hair loss. Just maintaining a healthier sleep schedule has been so important – and not just for my hair, but for my overall happiness and healthiness too!

6. EnerPrime and VitaCoco.

EnerPrime has been a lifesaver for getting all of my daily nutrients in! I try to eat pretty healthily but this “salad in a bottle” changed the game, y’all! It’s so easy – I just mix a scoop of this with my VitaCoco and I’m good to go.

7. Cut caffeine.

I am already a natural morning person and sometimes struggle with anxiety, so caffeine doesn’t really do me any favors. I cut it altogether, but my body was like “NOPE” to that lol. SO I decided to try Delta-E packets and I love them! They taste so good, have tons of vitamins, and have like half the caffeine as a cup of coffee, so they helped my body adjust.

I am still learning, and everyone’s hair journey is different, but I hope that least one or two of these tips are helpful! If you’re experiencing hair loss, what hacks have helped you?

XOXO Dani

Hello! I too am losing my hair. This isn’t the first time I’ve lost hair and had patches missing. I legit lost a big chuck in the front part of my hairline. This happened my Sophomore year if high school. It was embarrassing and the worst experience of my life. Fast forward 20 some odd years and it’s happening again. This time due to early premenopausal hormones. Yup Debbie Downer over here. I’m so happy I came across your IG account and I’m so thankful that your bringing attention the what a lot of women are going through and that we’re not alone. Thank you Dani!!!

Hi Dani- I am too struggling with hair loss. I was wondering if you have tried any of the at home laser treatments? I am debating making the investment as my hair loss is becoming a huge source of anxiety for me. Appreciate any input!
