Easy ways to fight hunger and spark change

Sponsored by Wal-Mart. All thoughts and opinions are my own, as always.

Have you ever heard a statistic that literally knocks you off your feet? For me, it was this: 1 in 8 Americans struggles with food insecurity. WHAT? Not only is that shocking, but it’s sad. No one should have to worry about where or when they’ll get their next meal. That’s why I’m proud and honored to partner with Walmart to help fight hunger and spark change.

It seems daunting, right? If this is such a big problem, how on Earth can we make a difference? Where do we even start? You’re right. It IS a big problem. But there are simple steps that we can all take to do our part. And with each little effort, big changes can happen.

Walmart has been working toward this goal for years. The largest retailer in the world aims to end food insecurity in local communities by partnering with Feeding America®, to help feed families in need.

Did you ever think you could contribute to this campaign just by purchasing the same products you already buy in your weekly grocery run? It’s that easy! Many popular brands participate in this initiative (CLIF Bars, Hidden Valley Ranch, Kraft Mac and Cheese, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cheez-It, JIF Peanut Butter, and many more). All you have to do is shop!

What You Can Do

For every participating product purchased at Walmart between now and May 20, 2019, the manufacturer will donate $.10 to Feeding America. Might not sound like a lot, but do the math: that’s enough to secure at least one meal on behalf of local food banks. How awesome is that!? When you’re shopping, just check out participating packages and labels, or go to Walmart.com/FightHunger for more information.

I don’t know about you, but this initiative is one that I’m most definitely jumping on. If I can help provide a meal for someone in need, that’s one step toward fighting this terrible state in our country. Charitable living is a large part of my mission and faith, which is why this campaign really hits home for me. Let’s all join forces for such an amazing and worthy cause.Walmart is on the way to eradicating hunger, and I fully support campaigns for the good of humanity. How about you?
