How Kathy Kuo Transformed My Bedroom

And since my bedroom is now OUR bedroom, we decided to do a little re-vamping. Jordan isn’t the most excited about the fact that we still have a splash of pink, but it’s all about compromise, right?

KATHY KUO DESIGNS.
First, we sent photos of the space and a floor plan to give the Kathy Kuo Design Team an idea of layout and dimensions. From there, they created a schematic based on our personal tastes and style. (Remember, we gotta accommodate girl + boy now!) It couldn’t have been easier!
In the end, our room was transformed into a French Country getaway, complete with Moroccan accents for a fun touch. Here’s a peek at some of the elements we used to create the most relaxing, inviting, and ah-mazing bedroom:

FRENCH COUNTRY INSPIRED BED. Our bed is the French Country bed in a queen size, which is unfortunately discontinued. BUT, the Amelie bed is a very similar option that gives a comparable look and feel. Complete the look with this gorgeous Lilli Alessandra bedding from her basketweave and blush velvet collection.

BENCH. A bench is a must-have—and I love the Delrey Modern Antique Gold Frame bench in beige upholstery. I’ve never had a bench in my bedroom before but love the idea of having this at the end of the bed, or moving it against the wall, to hold the pillows when the bed isn’t made!
ANTIQUE CHAIR. I always want to make sure to have a good chair in my bedroom, not just for snuggling up with a good book, but as another place to toss clothes in between hauls! Mine is the Elva Regency Antique Silver Leaf Ivory chair.

VANITY NOOK. Our little nook area is finished with adhesive wallpaper by Cynthia Rowley, and an Anthropologie mirror for my vanity.
ADD WARMTH TO THE ROOM WITH A RUG. Whether you have hardwood or carpeted floors, an area rug adds a comfy feel that ties the whole room together. How cute is this Zazu ivory shag rug from Loloi?!
