All about our dream vacation to Maui
Aloha, y’all! If you’ve been following me on my Insta stories, you already know where Jordan and I just visited….Maui! We took a little vacay for our one year anniversary and let me tell you, guys, it was absolutely AMAZING. I’ve decided that Hawaii is one of my favorite places to visit and I hope that I’m lucky enough to go back someday.
We had the most amazing time doing a little bit a excursions and a little bit of R&R. It was the perfect blend for a truly relaxing, yet fun trip. So I wanted to share with y’all a breakdown of things we did, as well as my insider tips, in case anyone is planning to visit Maui!
WHERE WE STAYED
Jordan and I stayed at the Andaz Hotel Maui, which was IN-CREDIBLE (but also a leeeeeetle on the pricey end). If you’re going to splurge on this hotel, definitely ask for a beachfront room to enjoy the awesome views both day and night. It really is true: you get what you pay for. And while this hotel is expensive, we experienced top notch service and drool-worthy food on the daily.
We loved being able to walk right out onto the beach every morning, but if we get the chance to visit Maui again, we might opt for an Airbnb near the ocean and do a grocery run ourselves just to save a little money. It’s really all about your preferences and what you prioritize as most important for your vacation.
OUR THREE DAY MAUI TRAVEL GUIDE
DAY 1
On our first day there, we hiked two miles to Twin Falls waterfall with the Busby family (Do y’all watch their show, OutDaughtered, on TLC!?! Must!). It was so fun and actually not a tough hike (whew!)…and thankfully I burned a few calories before indulging in the most delicious flatbread pizza in Paia Town.
Later we attended a luau at Grand Wailea Resort, which was super cool…but make sure to purchase tickets a couple days in advance because it sells out fast!
DAY 2
The next day we hit up the pool in the morning, followed by window shopping at some of my faves like Gucci and Louis Vuitton. We saw the CUTEST sea turtles at Black Rock at Ka’anapali. Oh my goodness, so fun to see!
Dinner was at an iconic Maui spot: Mama’s Fish House. This is a MUST DO if you’re going to Maui…but as I’ve mentioned before, you’ve got to be a planner and book reservations wayyyyy in advance. I don’t know what was better, the views or the food. Ok, the food.
DAY 3
On our third day, we did the Road to Hana. Although it took us all day to reach Seven Sacred Pools, we didn’t complete the entire loop. My tips for this excursion are to start early (around 8 a.m.), use Gypsy Road app as a tour guide (so good!), and be sure to fill up your gas tank before you leave. If you get carsick easily, ya might want to stay behind.
This car ride was super cool though because we got to see some really neat things, including the Garden of Eden Arboretum (mile marker #10), Nahiku Marketplace (mile marker #29), Wai’anapanapa State Park where you can explore the famous black sand beach and caves (mile marker #32), Wailua Falls, one of the island’s most majestic waterfalls and the spot where Jordan and I jumped into the swimming pond (mile marker #45), and finally Seven Sacred Pools (last stop) full of mesmerizing natural wonders.
WHEW! Sounds like a whirlwind vaca, right? It really want jam packed with adventure, but also such a great getaway at the same time. I highly recommend Maui to be on everyone’s bucket list of destinations. The beauty is unmatched!
