The Secret To Achieving Your Goals
Hey y’all…Zen Dani checking in! Today I want to talk about goals, and more specifically, the importance of manifesting them! Let me start by saying that this is something that takes practice and commitment—keeping a positive attitude and outlook isn’t always easy, but it’s SUCH a critical part of living a happy life.
Last year was an AMAZING year for me and I was able to achieve many of my personal goals, as well as set some new ones. That’s not to say, however, that ALL of my goals came true…there were plenty ideas I had that flopped, and plenty of goals that weren’t met. But that’s the beautiful thing—livin’ and learnin’ and realizing that nothing’s ever perfect but you’ve got to get back up and keep trying.
The secret to achieving your goals is easier than you think, keep reading to find out the key was under your nose the whole time!
Last year at SXSW
I snuck into the event that I dreamed of speaking at…
Last year, Cassidy (my assistant) and I attended the SXSW conference….and by “attended” I mean we drove there hoping to get in to SOMETHING. And with a little ingenuity, we were able to squeeze our way into Create and Cultivate, which is something I’ve been dying to attend for years. My favorite blogger, @happilygrey, was on the panel and I was ready to all out fan girl. The event was nothing short of amazing and inspirational, and I left there telling Cassidy that I would be on the stage as a panelist the following year. A big goal, yes, but one that I felt SO powered by.
Well, y’all….I DID IT! That’s right, I will be participating in the Create and Cultivate panel as a speaker this year!
“That was easy.”
“That was easy,” you must be thinking…but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The reality is this:
I set that goal as a high priority and worked my butt off to make it happen. Hours and hours were spent over this past year to grow and increase my following, thus opening more and more doors. Contacts were made and followed up with. I believe in hard work and satisfying payoffs—which is why I wanted to share with you this exciting announcement that started as a simple goal.
AND NOW THE SECRET TO ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS
One of my biggest tips for setting and reaching goals is this: VERBALIZE IT! Not just to yourself, but to others, particularly those who you’re close with. Why?
1.) Because there’s something about saying words out loud and putting them out into the universe that sticks with you. Whether or not you believe in destiny and fate, verbalizing your goal helps you remember it more.
2.) Because it will allow others to support and encourage you along the way, as well as keeping you accountable.
Cassidy (and others) were major factors in helping me reach this goal, which is proof that saying it loud and proud is the way to go. Don’t be afraid of your goals—there’s no such thing as a silly goal. Large or small, a goal is a goal. And you should celebrate each one!

Maybe my next goal won’t be met, but that doesn’t mean I’ll stop trying and talking about them. I’m so stinkin’ excited for my role in the upcoming SXSW festival and am proud of the work I’ve done over the past year to make it happen. So I hope this can serve as some motivation and inspiration for y’all in whatever goals your setting for yourself this year. You can do it!
Hope to see y’all at the Create & Cultivate pop up during SXSW on March 10. RSVP to see me manifest my goals , I hope you find the inspiration to make your goals happen, too!!
Throwback to SXSW last year… lol. Little did I know where I’d be today!

SWIPE RIGHT TO SEE 10 MOMENTS THAT MAKE ALL DA HARD WORK WORTH IT!! 😭I had the opportunity to meet some amazing @thesassyclub members walking around at @createcultivate for SXSW. 💃🏼A lot of girls were aspiring bloggers (SO COOL😍) and we were able to chat and ask each other questions! I LOVE MEETING YALL😭. . I figured there are other aspiring bloggers out there so I thought I’d share 3 blogging tips here on my IG that help me on the DAILY!🤗 . . Dear Aspiring Blogger Girl, . 1. Blogging isn’t about you. It’s not about brands. It’s about the ONE. ☝🏼The ONE girl you’re trying to help with your photo, IG, blog post, or vlog. I hear so many bloggers more worried about working for brands rather than focusing on their FOLLOWERS and creating content that provides your followers VALUE. The PEOPLE are the reason you are where you are in the first place!! Yes. I have to pay the bills but I’m EXTREMELY picky because I’d much rather create content for my followers THAT GIVES VALUE instead of creating promotional content for brands all the time. . 2. Focus on the QUALITY of your followers not the QUANTITY. 😱With 151k followers – that many people are DEF not seeing my IG posts. 🤷🏼♀️Instead of trying to garner MORE followers I’d rather focus and take care of the ones I already have!! 😃In turn, when I do this, I sometimes start to grow a little. 🤷🏼♀️ This is really easy to do when you genuinely care about your people! 💕I try my best to answer DMs, meet up with people in real life, comment back, and just be there for others in need. . 3. Be patient, consistent, and work harder than anyone else. Don’t follow a formula. You’ll end up like every other blogger out there but people want YOU! Be the best at being YOU and don’t be afraid to try being transparent. http://liketk.it/2uXaY #liketkit @liketoknow.it #sxsw #c&c #createandcultivate #sxsw2018 #createcultivateatx #austinblogger
