Bathroom Organization Tips

If you’re anything like me, your bathroom ends up being the dumping ground for products, samples, toiletries, beauty tools…..need I go on? You get the point. It’s easy to neglect your bathroom since it’s often a private space that not a lot of people see. Plus, those vanity drawers? Super convenient for hiding a mess. BUT, today that’s all about to change. I’m here to tell ya that organizing your bathroom is easier than it sounds, and actually a great way to reduce mental stress.

I’ve teamed up with the Neat Method and The Container Store to create the ultimate list of tips for creating a clean, organized bathroom, no matter what your space or style is.

5 Easy Bathroom Organization Tips

how to store hair tools bathroom organization under the sink bathroom organization ideas

TIP 01 | BEAUTY TOOL HOME.

Have a hair station under the sink. There’s typically a good amount of space under a sink, so it’s the perfect place to keep bulky hair tools. Wrap cords around curling irons, straighteners, and blow dryers to prevent tangling.

TIP 02 | FOCUS ON FUNCTION.

It seems like common sense, but you should keep your tools next to where they’ll be used. This makes it easy to grab and use quickly. Store your bath products in a closet, and only pull out what you’re actually using at that time (no one likes an over-cluttered shower!). Finally, makeup and everyday hygiene should be closest to you and within close reach.

TIP 03 | Whoever coined the term “Lazy Susan,” is basically my spirit animal.

Use spinning organizers for makeup products.  We’re all a little lazy from time to time, but a spinning organizer makes it so simple to see everything you have, and grab it easily without knocking over things in your way.

TIP 04 | LABEL, LABEL, LABEL!

Ok, call me a crazy labeling lady, but I own that label (haha, get it?) proudly! Labeling your products allows you to know where everything goes, and also helps keep track of how much of one item you have so you know when it’s time to restock. Love the look of these chalkboard labels.

TIP 03 | THROW OUT THE TOWEL.

I’d never tell you to throw in the towel, but I would suggest throwing one or two out. Purge your towels. Towels take up a lot of space, so if you invest in quality over quantity, and wash it frequently, there’s no need to keep a ton.

TIP 05 | CLEAN & CLEAR COUNTERTOPS.

Keep a clear countertop. Clutter creates anxiety, so do your best to keep your sink counter clean and clear. Try using apothecary jars for essential items, then organize the rest of your things in drawers—but remember not to just toss them in! Small baskets or cups are great options for keeping your drawer neat. I put the make up I use everyday in this Make Up Organizer to keep everything accessible!

Dani thanks for doing this post! I’ve been waiting for it ever since I saw you tease it on stories – your bathroom is beautiful and you have so much space – so jelly!! I was waiting for the links to the bathroom organization, could you please share the link the makeup organizer on your bathroom counter from the last image, I don’t think you did or maybe I missed it? I’ve been looking for something like it!!
    Thank you !!

Dani, this is a great post! I was having a problem with my bathroom vanity feeling overwhelmed with items. This may be really silly, but where do you store your toothbrushes, I feel like having them out on display sometimes looks weird, but I’m not sure where else to put them.

Yay, I’m so happy to hear that!! I put my toothbrush in my drawer in a little organizer. But I’m trying out a new electric toothbrush and I leave that on the counter to charge.
