We can all agree — there is something deeply satisfying about saving money. Nothing gives me more of a rush than scoring an amazing lipstick or mascara without spending a fortune, especially when I find it to be a “dupe” or even better alternative to another (5 times more expensive) product. Drugstore-aisle enthusiasts like us believe that it is possible to improve your look and trim your budget at the same time.
The beauty shopping experience at CVS Pharmacy is getting even better – it’s definitely not just the place you pick up prescriptions anymore. As someone who watches hours of makeup tutorials on Youtube for fun, I was really impressed with the on-trend displays from brands like NYX, L’Oreal, Physician’s Formula, Revlon, OPI, and essie. A new one-stop Cosmetic Wall destination made it easier than ever to find the exact colors and shades I was needing. As a drugstore beauty addict, I’ve put together a master list of the best budget-friendly buys.
Wet ‘n Wild Boozy Brunch Highligher
This perfectly-coordinated baked trio from Wet ‘n Wild gives the most beautiful glowing, extra-reflective finish. I would compare it to any and every high-end highlighter out there. I use as a last step to highlight my cheek bones, above my lip’s teardrop, and in the inside corners of my eyes.
PRO TIP: I took screen shots of the exact products I was looking for on my phone in order to save a little time once I arrived at CVS Pharmacy. By doing a little research online I knew exactly what shade of foundation to pick up and the names of every shadow and lippie.
E.l.f. Makeup Mist and Set Finishing Spray
Now the Texas humidity has nothin’ on me! It is so lightweight, the spritz is nice and misty and my makeup looks just as great when I get home from my long day as it did when I put it on that morning. For the price, it really can’t be beat!
L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation
This foundation does not separate on my oily spots and lasts all day. I occasionally do minor touch-ups throughout the day but for the most part I trust that it hasn’t budged. I always set it with powder to extend the wear. The lightweight formula keeps skin matte, controls oil throughout the day, and imparts an airbrush finish…what more could I ask for?
NYX Color Correcting Concealer
I have other color correctors that feel too heavy or too drying. Based on the pigments, I do not recommend over applying, and I’d also use a setting powder and spray once you’re finished with your makeup. On my fair skin, I use the peach to cancel out purple under-eye circles, the green on red blotchiness, and the lavender to brighten sallowness.
L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Concealer
The consistency is very soft and creamy so it goes on very easily under the eyes with no risk of damaging that delicate skin. It covers what I want to conceal just great, and I am seeing some lifting around my eyes
PRO TIP: My birthday was last Sunday. I treated myself to a couple of new nail polishes, hehe. Since it was my birthday, I received $3 ExtraBucks® Rewards! You can also get $5 ExtraBucks® Rewards for every $50 cumulatively spent on qualifying beauty products! You’re welcome. 🙂
Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes
I am frequently on the go, and I like to have these wipes handy to wash my face when I can’t get to a sink or am away from home. They’re soft, smell nice, and do a fairly good job at removing my make up.
Covergirl Roses TruNaked Eyeshadow Palette
This palette has a stunning range of neutral shades for your perfect nude eye look. Richly pigmented shadows in roses, and in a range of colors and textures – from neutrals to smokys and shimmers to mattes.
Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow in “Barely There”
This is an amazing dupe of Mac’s “Bare Study” Paint Pot. Love this as my everyday eyeshadow. The cream gel formula glides on without creasing and keeps color vibrant.
Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color
I use this Kylie Cosmetics “Candy K” look-a-like lippie everyday. I truly love how smooth my lips are yet still have that matted look to it without drying them out.
Baby Lips Crystal
After seeing this, I am just waiting for roll-on body glitter trend to roll back in. Love this soft and simple moisturizing lip balm. It goes on smooth with soft and subtle highlights. Best for natural every day wear or as a top coat to add a bit of sparkle to your lips.
I know Beauty-lovers are often switching up their routine, cleaning out overstuffed makeup bags, and, most importantly, keeping an eye out for the latest and greatest drugstore beauty products. Keep me posted!
