We are in full-on quarantine mode over in le casa Jordani! We’re over the lazy stage of quarantine and into the GOALS stage! Goal 1: get ish done! Goal 2: stay sane 🤪 Goal 3: don’t annoy the heck out of each other in the process 🤣 We’re pretty used to working at home together, but getting out of the house and spending time with other people is our biggest way to spend quality time together outside of work. Unfortunately, COVD-19 had other plans 🙃
I wanted to get together some new ways for us to have FUN together! And boy did I EVER – did y’all know how many new, crazy board games are out there?! We aren’t talking Candyland or Monopoly these days – this ain’t your mother’s game night! So throw on your fave sweats, grab your quarantine roomies, and play some GAMES (outside if you can)! Here are my fave picks!
Blockbuster
This game is for the movie lovers 😍 I love how retro this is! In this game, it’s kind of a mix of charades and movie-quoting! I feel like you could do this with kiddos too because lots of the films are kid-friendly.
Code Names
This one requires at least 4 players, but it’s SO fun. It’s all about how well you know the other person’s brain 🧠 How do they think? What words will help them to guess your cards? Using inside jokes is ENCOURAGED! I highly recommend this one 🙂
Jackbox Tv
Jackbox is absolutely the BEST game to play with friends all over right now! They can join in virtually and you can all play together. Jackbox games are streamed online and your phone is how you connect and play, so make sure you’re charged up! Mine has died in the middle of a round before and I’m pretty competitive, so I mayyy or may not have been a little bit of a sore loser that night 🤣 There are all different kinds of games and lots of different “party packs” you can purchase – so much to choose from! A couple of my faves are Fibbage and Quiplash!
Wits & Wagers Vegas Board Game
If you’re feeling risky and wanna scratch the itch – here’s a little gambling game to get your adrenaline pumping 😅 It’s a lil bit of trivia and a lil bit of gambling all in one – the box says, “read a question, place your bets, and collect your chips!” I think Jordan will get a real kick outta this one lol.
Say Anything
SO apparently this is a classic but I’ve never really heard of it! It sounds super fun though and would be a great way to get to know your quarantine mates better. It’s sort of like Apples to Apples but you really gotta know your audience! One player asks a question, the others write-in answers, the player SECRETLY chooses their fave answer, and then then the rest of the players have to guess which one they chose!
New Phone Who Dis
I swear I haven’t laughed so hard at a game in a LONG time! This is essentially also Apples to Apples, but with texts. You pull a main card (like the adjective in Apples to Apples), and then people have to respond with the funniest text response. It is a little PG-13 though, so probably not for the kiddos.
