The Caribbean: Club Med Punta Cana - Experience and Reviews

If you give me the option of snow or sand, I will choose sand every single time. There is something about the calm of the ocean, the warmth of the sand beneath your toes, and the endless supply of frozen, fruity drinks that makes me feel close to paradise. I love watching some of my favorite travel bloggers capture this lush content as they travel to the beaches of Greece, South America, and the Caribbean. I almost always sit and think about how much I wish that was me as lay in bed with my Cheerios.

Well, about two weeks ago I received a huge blessing and Club Med invited me to their Punta Cana resort.

Within twenty four hours, I went from my dog Hazel hogging the bed to resting my pampered mind, body and soul in clean crisp sheets on a king size bed. Immediately upon arrival, I felt complete contentment and excitement all at once. I went from having every moment of my day planned with photoshoots and editing to no pressures from the world because you make your own agenda as the crystal clear water and long list of activities called my name. Instead of selfies, I was sailing the ocean. My day was filled with a break from my phone and replaced with kayaking, yoga, archery, tennis, sand volleyball, fitness classes, and foam parties on the beach.

My afternoons were spent winding down, lounging by the pool with a Pina Colada in hand, catching up on ZZZ’s under my private cabana, meandering the peaceful paths through the forrest of palm trees, or laying out on the beach that never left me with a view less than breathtaking. Of course, there was that one afternoon I spent at the spa, as well. My hour long massage was elevated by the fresh ocean breeze, sounds of nature, and L’Occitane essential oils. I floated in the spa’s infinity pool, soaking it all in under the sun.

However, Club Med is a not only a place that demands for you to not only relax, but also to play. The resort and staff have an interesting way of evoking a much needed time for play too which is integral to any vacation. My childhood dreams came true at CREACTIVE, by Cirque Du Soleil, the ultimate circus-inspired playground for adults and children. Maybe those 4 years of ballet I took as a little girl actually did pay off! This is where I attempted acrobatic activities like the high bungee, double flying trapeze, and trampoline (and looked like a total nerd with my go-pro strapped and filming at all times.) Learn new kills under expert staff supervision trained by Cirque du Soleil.

Club Med balances the life of a vacationer with sensational actives and absolute relaxation with a full service spa experience.

My introvert was fed with a sneak onto one of the may patio’s overlooking the ocean with a perfect book and the sun beaming down on your face. My extroverted self and I enjoyed getting to know others at the resort during the evenings. This night life is alive and energetic at Club Med . Every evening was began and ended with glass of rose and an array of appetizers from one of the many restaurants before attending one of the upbeat shows featuring local tunes, dancers, and parties. My favorite of all these was the one night we dressed in all white and attended a glow party, dancing off all the sweets and treats I had for dinner.

The perfect getaway is hard to find. You can spend hours and hours reading reviews, surveying amenities and actives, or you can go to a place that offers it all. I had never experienced an all-inclusive resort quite like Club Med in Punta Cana. Heck, I had never even been to Punta Cana before. But after everything that I experienced for both my inner introvert and extrovert, it will be hard to find a better place than the paradise that Club Med offered me.

I don’t know when the next time I’ll experience the sand beneath my toes will be, but I will carry this memory with me forever.
