Ah, Valentine’s Day! It’s the ultimate girly-girl holiday. Your perfect excuse to bust out all things red, pink, frills, and bows. I mean, c’mon…CHOCOLATE! FLOWERS! Need I say more? Guys, V-Day is my second FAVORITE holiday (behind Christmas, duh). Call me mushy, but I just love everything about it—the meaning, the romance, and most of all, the chance to dress sassy for a date night.
Now Jordan? Yeahhhhh, he’s not quite as into V-Day as I am. I think guys just feel so much pressure about it, when in reality, it doesn’t need to be that way. Sure, girls love receiving a heartfelt gift (amiright, ladies!?), but that’s not what Valentine’s Day is all about. The truth is, we really just love the idea of spending time together (and Hazel Girl, too).
Actually going OUT for date night is a rare occurrence for Jordan and I. Our lives are just so busy right now, we’re more likely to spend quiet evenings at home (which, don’t get me wrong, we LOVE. Pinterest dinners, much?). But getting dressed up and hitting the town is fun every now and then. Sooooooo…you’re probably wondering what we’ve got up our sleeves this year! And don’t worry, Imma tell you.
Jordan is super good about planning in advance, so he’s booked us dinner reservations at my favorite restaurant in Dallas, The Grape. If you’ve never been, you MUST try this place. It’s located in the Lower Greenville area, which is cute and trendy with lots of restaurants and shopping for young peeps. Guys, they have THE best burger, and I’m currently already drooling over it.
For outfit ideas, I have been shopping on Revolve, Shopbop and Nordstrom to find a cute, romantic dress, since I don’t get a ton of opportunities to get really dressed up. But it really just depends on what type of date you’re having. Going to the movies and going to a fancy restaurant might dictate different styles and levels of formality. But there’s options for everyone, from jeans and a pretty blouse, to cocktail dresses, to a fun and flirty romper.
