Malibu travel amaryllis dani austin

I’m on a girl’s trip in Malibu with Amaryllis right now and I am channeling my inner Miley 🤪🌊☀️ Malibu is one of those places that’s just as good in person as it is in the movies. Gorgeous beaches, endless nature walks, shopping everywhere and amazing food. It’s a Barbie world and we’re just visiting 🤪

If you’re planning on visiting Malibu soon, here’s a loose game plan to make sure you don’t miss out on any Malibu must-sees.

1. Beaches

Obviously, you can’t visit Malibu without spending some serious time on the beach! I have a few faves – El Matador State Beach is stunning and its landscape just screams Malibu. Point Dume State Beach has a cliffside view with the beautiful Pacific Ocean spread out as far as the eye can see, and Leo Carillo State Beach is ideal for smaller, more secluded picnics on the sand. It also has unique plant life on the surrounding hills that is so worth exploring.

2. Wine Tasting

Malibu wine tastings are next LEVEL, people! Cielo Farms is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. It’s estate is worth visiting just for the views, and it’s considered one of the top 10 wedding venues in the US!

3. Hiking

There isn’t a TON of amazing hiking in Dallas, so when I travel, I love to see what trails are around. There are dozens of incredible trails in Malibu, but if you’re wanting that magical waterfall experience, the Escondido Falls Trail is perfect. It’s considered a relatively easy activity level so it’s great for families or just for a more laid back adventure. If you want to really challenge yourself, the Mugu Peak Trail is more mountainous, but still under 3 miles so not too crazy.

4. Food

There are a ton of great eating options, but I absolutely love the classic – Malibu Farm! It’s right on the coast so I suggest dinner so that you can catch the sunset. I also love Paradise Cove Beach Cafe – it’s on the beach itself. Like literally tables in the sand. The food is casual but so yummy and it’s pretty kid-friendly!

You could explore this pretty coastline for days and never run out of things to do and places to see, so I wanted to share a few of my favorites! If you’re a local (or are just more familiar with the area), leave your hidden gems below!

If you’re looking for more travel guides, I have you covered. Amaryllis took me to Paris a couple of years ago and it was the BEST trip. Paris travel guide here!
