It seems like yesterday I was walking down the aisle in a wind tunnel toward the love of ma life. Jordan and I had the most amazing wedding, and we owe it to the incredible vendors who pulled it all together. We worked with some of the best of the best in Dallas, so we felt they deserved their own special post. You’ve heard the phrase, “It takes a village”….and that’s definitely true for pulling off a wedding.
THE VENUE. So yes, our venue may have landed us in a wind tunnel, but it was still STUNNING. Plus, I don’t think our guests minded the breeze in 95 degree heat. Our wedding was held at The Grand Ivory in Leonard, Texas and included a beautifully designed barn, intimate chapel next to a pond, and full-service cottages to serve as bridal and groom suites. There was ample parking and outdoor patio for cocktail hour. This is a newer venue north of McKinney, TX, about 45 min north of Dallas. It had everything I wanted. With the perfect mix of rustic charm and elegant scenery, we couldn’t have imagined a better location! I loved all of the natural light, wooden farm tables an chairs that came with the venue, (a saved cost!) and the bride and groom cottage. Everything was so charming and dreamy.
THE DRESS. I got my dress from Bridal Boutique in Lewisville, TX. Thy were one of the only shops that had Berta dresses which I knew was my number one choice. The selection is huge and the experience was so special. I had about two hours of trying dresses on. The one I chose was actually the very last dress I tried on. I was actually walking out and said, “aw, I just want to try that one on for fun!” because I had already chosen a different dress. The designer of my wedding gown was Berta Bridal. I fell in love with my dress because of its unique details and perfect blend of sophistication and sexiness. Berta dresses are typically on the cutting edge of design, with a one-of-a-kind look. So I felt super special wearing such a gorgeous gown.
I also tried on dresses from Martina Liana and Hayley Paige. See that vlog here!
DRESS ALTERATIONS. Margo West Bridal in Dallas in the design district works miracles. My dress was completely see through which I found out 3 weeks before my wedding because I had never tried it on in natural lighting. Apparently, almost every Berta is see-through. Every slip I tried changed the color of the dress. Margo made me a custom slip that only went around my waist so no one could see. I ended up taking it off to dance and kine of said, OH WELL. Sorry, if you see my tush!
HEAD PIECE. This head piece was from BHLDN. I was planning on only wearing it at the reception but due to the wind, I decided to wear it last minute to help my fly aways stay in one place.
THE TUXEDOS. Jordan and his guys were dressed to da nines thanks to The Black Tux. They have a wide selection and were great to work with. I mean, our guys looked HAWT, right?? Need I say more?
THE FLORISTS. I really wanted an organic feel to my floral arrangements and nothing too overpowering. I actually had to keep asking to make the bridal bouquet smaller. For flowers, we turned to Abelia Floral Designs. Briley and Lauren created the most GORG arrangements for our ceremony, reception, and for myself and my bridesmaids. I’m convinced that florists are seriously artists, because our flowers were perfect.
BRIDESMAID DRESSES. The dresses are from Weddington Way but I found out they are going out business about 3 months into planning my wedding. They may have decent discounts?! I think Lulu’s has some great affordable options and now that they are carried at Nordstrom, they have a great return policy.
THE RENTALS. It’s all about the small details, and thankfully ours were on point because we used Posh Couture Rentals. Posh was SO FUN to work with, and the selection process was so easy. (THEY TRAVEL!) We got everything from Posh, including linens, chairs, glassware, cake stand, and even our stage. Top notch and beautiful! Check out how I decided on these plate settings!
THE BAND. One of the most important things on our list was entertainment. We wanted everyone to partay the night away on the dance floor, and that’s exactly what happened thanks to the Password Music. The band kept everyone moving, and even got the guys and girls on stage for a dance routine! They were so good, even my grandma was groovin’!
Photo booth’s are so fun for weddings. It’s the perfect keepsake for your guests and everyone loves to share pics on the ‘gram! The photo booth company I used was Photo Cabana, these pictures turned out so fun!
THE WEDDING DAY MAKE-UP. Briana Dai was in charge of my wedding day makeup. And not to toot my own horn, but I have to say, I felt pretty darn glam! Briana listened to what I wanted and gave me a beautiful look. Next time you need your face beat, she’s your girl.
THE WEDDING DAY HAIR. My ladies and I got our hair done at Revel Workshop. The staff was great and kept everything light and fun the morning of our big day. I loved how my hair looked (before the tornado hit).
THE CAKE. After gorging on tacos, it was time for dessert! It was chocolate with peanut butter frosting—seriously, so delicious! The baker even made donuts for the dessert table! We wanted to have a unique feel to our sweets, and that was definitely delivered.
THE CATERER. Our food was catered by the sweetest man ever, Ron, who literally makes the most incredible food at such an affordable price. We did a Mexican theme, with taco stations and other Mexican finger foods and margaritas. Strawberry AND regular frozen margs 🙂 YUMMMM!
THE WEDDING PLANNERS. We used RK Weddings and Events as our wedding planners…and lemme tell ya…thank goodness we did! They were amazing and helped keep everything flowing in a seamless fashion. They listened to what Jordan and I envisioned for our big day, and then delivered! It was such a pleasure working with them, they even sat down with me to answer all of y’all’s questions about wedding planning!
THE VIDEOGRAPHER & PHOTOGRAPHER. Wedding days end up being a blur, so Jordan and I really wanted to capture our day in photos and video so we could relive it for years to come. Guys, we worked with THE best peeps. David Le did our videography, and he is SO talented. Like, I-bawl-my-eyes-out-when-I-watch-it talented. Kristin Kilpatrick shot all of our wedding day pics (you’ve seen a few, right??). One word: Ah-mazing. Honestly, we’re so thankful to have such beautiful photos and video to commemorate our special day.
Jordan and I will forever remember our wedding day and we owe a huge THANK YOU and lots of love to the people and vendors who made it all possible. So grateful for everyone involved!!
